Albert Paul Long Sr.

Albert P. Long Sr. was the son of the late Leo and Madeline Long. He was a lifelong resident of Dearborn. He attended Fordson High School and graduated in 1948. Al worked at Ford Motor Company for 36 years until retiring in 1985. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree for 66 years and the 4th Degree since 1976. He continually volunteered in their fundraising projects. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He served his country during the Korean War. Al passed away at the age of 84 on June 10, 2014. He is survived by his wife Patricia Long (nee: Thiel) and his daughter Mary F. (Erik) Long and his son Albert Paul (Ashley) Long Jr. Cherished grandfather of Alexander Joseph “AJ” and Andrew Paul. Dearest brother of Mary (John) Fish, Madeline (Matthew) Keller, Leo C. (Eugenia) Long, Laura (the late Charles) Martin and Joan (Randy) Lewis. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by the late Eleanor and their children, Paul and Louise. Visitation at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home on Thursday, June 12th from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be a military service by the AM-Vets at 6:30 p.m. and a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Instate 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 13th at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3965 Merrick Street, Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48125 until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bonaventure Secular Franciscan’s, 1780 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, Michigan 48207.
